The Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros show at Water Taxi Beach on Governors Island was relaxing and warm in the a hippyish sort of way. It started off with Aaron Embry / Henry Wolfe playing melodic tunes to get people in the right mood and as the sun set over the “beach” the light up palm trees cast a nice glow on the venue. With such a large band there was always something/someone to watch on stage as they gave off a happy communal vibe. Most of their songs were melodic and calming but they amped it up for Home and ended with the love song Om Nash Eme. All in all, it was a show worth the trip!
